Duckduckgo also abbreviated as DDG, is an Internet search engine focused on protecting the privacy of searchers and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results.

In 2012, browser developers tried to create a tool or Addon to hide all the data of web browser users and also not to track the user by ad bots, and then they changed the direction of their thinking and decided to create a complete browser that increases privacy in browsing websites.

In fact, DuckDuckGo started to attract a lot of people to try it, and we can say that one of the most important features that make the engine gain great popularity  is due to the fact that it is easy to use and at the same time respects the privacy of users and protects their data while they are searching for any information or browsing any site and this is because it does not collect or share any information ,especially with the increasing leakage of browser privacy on GPT chat and other artificial intelligence. 

The Internet search engine “DuckDuckGo”, has revealed lately, a new optional feature based on artificial intelligence called “DuckAssist”, whereby users of “DuckDuckGo” browsing applications or extensions can access the trial version of the new feature for free now. 

It should be noted that DuckAssist is not an automated chat service; Such as GPT Chat, and Bing AI from Microsoft. Instead, it is an addition to the existing Instant Answers service in the search engine.

The immediate Answers ​​feature allows various sources via the Internet to provide quick answers to the user’s question without the need to click on any of the links that appear in the search results. But DacAssist can help, by narrowing search results more precisely.

And when you put the question in the search box on the “DuckDuckGo” engine, the “DuckAssist” feature scans Wikipedia and the British Encyclopedia “Britannica” to provide the answer. The feature uses advanced technology developed by OpenAI, developer of the artificial intelligence platform ChatGPT, and Anzerobic to summarize the answer and make it more conversational. When DuckAssist answers a question, it also links it to articles on Wikipedia and Britannica.

However, DuckAssist does not always provide correct answers; but tries to get the complex questions right, too, which is something different and remains compromised to some extent regarding the CHATGPT user data leaking which rises the question of our privacy  in the era of artificial intelligence.
