Once upon a time........
The world was not virtual but tangible and solid. Everything in it was practical, visible and touchable.
Then digitalization settled in. Cryptocurrency came flying on wings of a dragon. It waved it's spectre and magic started forming.
At first it was a pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto with the Bitcoin. He waved the magical wound and there was magical money. Oh,the Blockchain technology sprang into life. Yet all these would have been impossible without the web. The web, like in the story of Alice In Wonderland is the magical world we had found ourselves in. It was termed World Wide Web (WWW). Now why Nakamoto wanted to hide his name is another fork in the fairy tale. Cryptocurrency creates suspense.
Now we were in the wonderland called a web. First there was web 1.0 then web 2.0 and now web 3.0 just like caves in the discovered land.
Somebody thought of more coins and they came floating in the air. Altcoins also came. This was adventurous and a great mystery. Then we needed exchanges to bring more zest into the adventure. Binance, Coinbase, FTX, Kracken, Kucoin and many others came dangling magical wands. Wow! This was blissful. Yet some, just like in the story, Treasure Island, fell on the way. Some fought each other as they fought for supremacy. But life continued.
Decentralized Finance (DeFi) was the new technology. We were running away from Centralization yet we had Centralized Exchanges (CEX). Things had moved from small into advanced. We had elephant ideas.
And the story went on......
Web 3.0 started slowly crouching in. It all began with Non Fungible Tokens (NFT). Art had gained more recognition in these. They were digital goods which were non fungible. Life moved on. Yet we could own space through the metaverse. This was a virtual world. One could own a farm and many other things.
The fairy tale had gained momentum and now we were sailing in space. Complications in the world were receding into oblivion.
There were advantages too. One could own large sums of money and property without intrusion of governments. Movements of great chunks of money had become easier. Paperwork had been cut down to minimal. One could trace their transactions very easily from the comfort of their rooms. Blockchain ensured proper data collection as it was a cryptocurrency database.
And they lived happily ever after....
The story has a positive ending. It is a success story. There are no villains here. Sad moments are few.
