Coercing People In Our Countries To Embrace Crypto: My Country, Kenya Inclusive

How I wish we had a choice where to be born!

If this choice was there, then I wouldn't have been born in Kenya.  By the way,  that is where I was born and it doubles as my country of residence.  Don't ask me to relocate.  I am in Kenya to stay.

Maybe I would have opted to be born in America,  Russia or China.  I am of the hope these are early adopters of cryptocurrency.  Let me not forget that  the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto Is Japanese but most likely the man behind the name lived in either Europe or the United States.

Good!  That supports my dream of having been born in either of those places.  Yet I was born and stuck in Kenya.  Do I have a choice.  I heard somebody whispering that I have a choice.  No!  Hard Africans like me do not run away from the bones of our ancestors.  Where your father was buried is also your final resting place.

I was musing over the embracing of cryptocurrency!

Yes, some countries are slow when adopting to new things.  Africans,  especially Kenyans fall in this category.  According to the U.S. Library of Congress, as of November 2021, a total of nine countries have banned cryptocurrency completely. These countries are Algeria, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Nepal, Qatar and Tunisia. Another 42 countries have an implicit ban on the asset, generally by the means of not allowing financial institutions in the given country to take on crypto companies as clients. Wow!  China,  you have let me down here.  I had thought you will be among the early adopters really.  Anyway,  the world is slowly moving to this adaptation.

Web 3.0 is here with us.

In biology,  our teacher Anne Olunga tried to explain to us something called metamorphosis.  I remember,  there was complete metamorphosis and incomplete.  This was to do with insects.  Now let us assume humans are insects!  Wow!  Yes,  humans are insects, but they don't evolve drunkenly like insects but so slowly that you won't notice it.  Yet,  the world does it fast for them.  It evolves digitally till, now Web 3.0 seems to be completing the metamorphosis.  Is it time we force people into it lest they remain in stone age?

The unstoppable force!

So we need to move and move with all the others.  Imagine Moses of the Bible requesting to go out and pray with all the people, animals and their belongings.  We also need all our people to embrace crypto.

  • Make seminars and workshops.  Spread the word.  Tell them this is the way.
  • Make movies,  skits and plays.  Educate them.  Tell them they can buy Non Fungible Tokens and make over $1 million in 9 minta seling NFTs. Educate them on metaverse and exchanges.  Tell them Bitcoin is here to stay.
  • Social media and all the media houses should get these.
  • Organise street walks.  Print TShirts and posters.  Let people know the world is being digitalised.
  • Let people to be involved in discussions.

The world should come to its senses

Only when you are involved is when you know they exist. This is the place where authors can publish their best posts and articles. It is an Avenue we can label as the bestseller. Watch out for it.
