At first, when I started in the space, I thought that investing had to be exciting.
I wanted to see big movements in price, news, tweets, and coins that would make everyone talk.
Each day, I refreshed charts at least several dozen times. And if nothing happened I felt like I am missing out on something.
Now, I think that I could not be more wrong.
The more I learn about investing, the more certain I am that successful investors have… Boring days.
They do not go into charts each morning to find the next 100x project.
They do not panic after each drop in Bitcoin by 5%.
And they certainly do not change their whole strategy based on one single tweet.
At first, I could not really grasp this mentality.
If I didn't do anything during the day then I was not making progress, right?
But with time, I realized that patience is also an action.
Sometimes, the smartest thing to do is actually to not do anything at all.
There is something in crypto that makes us feel like we should always be doing something: buying coins, selling them, following trends, chasing opportunities, etc.
This is exhausting.
Today, I do not want investing to be exciting anymore.
I want it to be calm.
I would rather study projects than refreshing the chart every five minutes.
I would prefer making one solid decision rather than ten impulsive ones.
What I have found out recently is that the loudest people in crypto are the busiest ones.
They trade, predict, chase, and do everything else.
At the same time, quiet investors simply wait.
They stick to their plan.
To be honest, I think that this is more difficult than it looks like.
Patience is not easy when everyone around you makes impressive profits.
But I learned that comparing my results with others who I do not even know does not make me a better investor.
It just makes me impatient.
I am learning every day, and I will make mistakes.
But there is one thing that I really want to cultivate:
I do not want to feel excitement each time I am investing.
I want to feel confidence.
Because excitement usually comes from emotions.
While confidence is the result of preparation.
I guess that boring investing will not receive many views on social networks.
It will not generate any exciting headlines.
But I guess that this is the way that many successful investors are building their wealth over time.
Honestly…
