To start with, I could go back to the day I bought my first cryptocurrency; I wouldn't tell myself which coin to purchase.

Instead, I would tell myself to take a deep breath and slow down.

When I began my crypto journey, the only goal in my mind was earning money. Every time I opened X or YouTube, some person stated that a certain crypto was going to soar and that I had to buy it because it was my last chance.

I believed all those statements almost blindly.

Everyone seemed to know something that I didn't.

Reflecting on it now, I understand that in most cases people just guess what's going to happen.

One advice that I wish I'd been given at that time is:

You don't need to catch every single opportunity.

Initially, I thought that it was my obligation to buy each and every crypto that was gaining popularity. I considered it a necessity because if I failed to do that, it was impossible for me to earn money.

Now, looking back, I can clearly see that there will always be other chances.

Next bull run.

Next project.

Crypto isn't a race.

Another piece of advice that I wish to have been given to me when I was new to the topic is that it's okay to admit ignorance.

I was terrified of asking questions because I was afraid that I'd sound silly.

However, every experienced investor started from scratch.

No one knows everything at once.

I wish that I had understood that checking my portfolio every ten minutes won't help it grow.

I did that very often and whenever the price was increasing I was smiling.

Whenever it was falling, I was feeling terrible.

It was exhausting.

These days I spend less time staring at price charts and more time studying.

That approach works way better than monitoring every movement in the crypto market.

Finally, the advice I would like to give myself and hear the most if I were able to do it at the beginning of my crypto journey is the following:

Don't compare your progress to others'.

Social media are flooded with posts telling how much people are earning but no one tells about losses.

It seems that everyone is earning money except for me.

In most cases, this impression is wrong.

If you are just starting your journey in the crypto world, then don't focus on making profits immediately.

Just study.

Do some mistakes but learn from them.

Stay patient.

Money can wait.

As for me, crypto didn't change my life in terms of earnings.

It changed my mindset.

It taught me patience and how to think before acting.
