Initially, when I decided to engage in trading, my main focus was to make money I used to watch the video stories about successful trades of other people and thought that I could do it too. As I was learning a lot of information about charts, various indicators and strategies, I forgot one very important pointย risk management.
ย
Initially, I thought that if I will risk more money, then the profit will be more. I could even see how one successful deal will make a revolution in my life. However, after analyzing the market and practicing my skills on the demo account, I realized that not always things go the way you want. And even those traders, who have a high level of skills, can lose money sometimes.
ย
That moment taught me a very important lessonย instead of thinking how much money can I make, I should start thinking how much money can I lose in the particular trade. One simple question totally changed my attitude to trading.
ย
Nowadays, I do not risk all my money in each trade. ๐ฏ I always set a certain limit for it before entering the trade and accept the fact that losses are a part of the process. Moreover, I avoid making emotional decisions. For example, I do not start the next deal right after I lose my previous one.
ย
One more thing, which I realized, is that money management is more important than looking for quick profits. ๐ There will always be other opportunities for trading, but once I lose all my money, I will not have any chances to practice anymore.
ย
Every day I learn something new and know that my journey in trading is far from its end. Nevertheless, there is one main point which I will never forgetย successful trading is not about winning each time. It is about how many losses I can manage to survive.
ย
Risk management is not only the rule of trading, but the habit which helps me to trade with a peace of mind. Indeed, it is impossible to increase your money without its protection first. ๐
