When watching and listening to various Congressional Committee hearings, and other public media events represented by both Republican and Democrats side by side; the physical appearance, characteristics and the manor by which they conducted themselves seemed to reflect for which party they represented.  This compelled me to look at the full roster of currently elected representatives of both the GOP and Democrat party. 

Scrolling through the links provided: the composition of male to female representation is one factor reflecting the political philosophy, ideology of the respective Party, but too, the perceived character differences, though understandably a subjective reaction, is somewhat recognizable to be consistent with the differentiating polices advocated by each. 

Is there a symbiosis of personal/physical characteristic between those running for elected office, as representative to a political doctrine, and that of they who vote for the candidate?
