To see this bird live, you have to be very lucky, because the bird is a very rare phenomenon. We are talking about a bird called Fieldfare. The name is probably familiar to many people, and I was lucky enough to see this bird in action.

In my favorite Park Śląski in Rosarium it is quite peaceful and quiet. Theoretically, dogs are not allowed there, so the birds feel safe.

Walking there, I spotted a bird that I had heard a lot about. In the damp earth, he hunted for worms, roundworms. He did not mind the company of a human, he walked a few meters.

In addition to photos, I also managed to shoot a short video about a bird that was hunting for food. It's probably a female fieldfare.

The fieldfare is quite an original bird, whose name has been heard by almost everyone, but few people have had the opportunity to see this bird live, because in Poland it is not very common, in some regions even very rare.

The fieldfare is a migratory bird and belongs to the thrush family. It is found in Asia and almost all of Europe. In Poland, the fieldfare builds nests at a height of about 6-7 meters, most often in the canopy of trees, in forked trunks. The construction is based on blades of grass, pieces of other plants, and everything is combined with clay.

The fieldfare is somewhat similar to the female blackbird. It measures about 25-30 cm. It has a tricolor plumage. He has a gray hood on his head, the back is brown in color, and the tail is black and brown. On the white belly there are spots in the shape of arrowheads.

Fieldfare's food consists mainly of products of animal origin. Eats earthworms, various insects, small crustaceans. Sometimes it eats soft fruits like mountain ash or hawthorn and plant seeds.
