Walking in my favorite park, I noticed a bush with characteristic red flowers. I've never paid attention to this plant before, and it's unique.

This mysterious bush, which occurs in the Silesian Park only in one place, is an ornamental variety of currant, and more precisely bloodcurrant.

The variety of this currant is decorative, because the fruits are tart and tasteless. Perhaps they would be suitable for the production of tinctures, but not for direct consumption.

This beautiful shrub blooms in early spring. Beautiful blood-red flowers appear on it.

Smells like "maryśka"

It looks wonderful, so the next step is to check if it smells nice. And here was a moment of consternation, because the smell is familiar to me, but I could not place it. After a few moments, there was an epiphany. This flower smells like a ripening cannabis top. Very positive.

Shrubs of this species can be successfully grown in gardens. It's not too demanding. The fruits are gathered in clusters. They have a navy blue color with a gray coating reminiscent of grapes. They are distasteful to humans, but they are nutritious food for birds in autumn and winter.
