Before the castle was built, there was a wooden stronghold in its place, probably built in the 10th century. This is the first Gothic castle built on the San River.

Today, there is no trace of the Gothic castle. The castle was built on a square plan with round towers at the corners

At the end of the 16th century, the tower was modernized. There was a reconstruction of the castle was to become a palace residence. The wings were transformed into a residential building

In recent years, it was decided to restore the castle to its former appearance. Both towers were rebuilt. It is now open to tourists
