The fungus does not have a well-shaped hat, it is attached to the side of the ground, i.e. to dead tree trunks. It is outstretched, an adult specimen resembles a fan. Most often it grows singly, but sometimes as it grows, the specimens grow together and form clusters.

The upper part of the fungus is hairy, with characteristic furrows resembling veins, light-brown in color, yellow-brown, sometimes like an ear, lilac brown-amber

The flesh thickness is a maximum of 4 mm, but the width of the fan is up to 20 cm in diameter. Indefinite taste and smell.

Occurrence - a rare fungus species, although it grows all year round, on deciduous trees, it is difficult to meet. It most often besieges old trunks of deciduous trees, but it can be seen on healthy trees. Inedible fungus.

NOTE: It can be confused with an edible mushroom with a similar structure called Uszak Lilac. This one, however, prefers a tree, a shrub called Bez, so if you find something similar on another deciduous tree, it is probably a leather-like ear.
