Today was the Saturday I'd been waiting for for weeks. Sunny, warm, and truly spring-like. I've been missing days like this.

Typical spring mushrooms are appearing in the park. As every year in a place I know, a mushroom called a scaly birch grows on an old poplar stump. It's an edible and tasty species of arboreal mushroom. It's edible when young, at the stage of development shown in the photo. Later, it becomes tough and stringy.

I concluded my classic walk with a classic feeding of my flying friends. Everyone showed up and everyone was fed.
