
Pleurotus pulmonarius - Mushroom with a diameter of 50 to 120 mm, shelled, spatulate, spur-of-age, young low convex and folded on the edge, mature specimens above the stem gently concave and with a sharp edge, smooth, whitish, whitish-brown, cream-colored, gray-black.
Lamellae very thick, narrow, elastic, deeply converging on the stipe, whitish, pale cream, as it dries yellowing.
Stem 10 to 60 mm high, up to 15 mm thick, eccentric, and even lateral, towards the base thinner, whitish, at the base white, fibrous.
Flesh is first elastic and juicy, with age hard and drier, whitish; with an unnoticeable smell and sweet taste.
Occurrence: From lowlands to foothill areas in colonies on dead and living wood of deciduous trees, especially beeches, oaks, birches and willows.
Value: edible.
