Not long ago, I shared details in a previous post about the upcoming "Crop Week" event in Sunflower Land—explaining the specific crop involved, how the event works, and everything you can do with the event crop, Saltwort.
Now that the event is just around the corner, I believe it’s time to dive deeper into the strategies you can implement during the event week (running from July 19 to July 26) to maximize your Saltwort production.
I'll be much appreaciated if you Votes, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
Sunflower Land Crop Week - Strategy Guide
Kicking off the strategy guide for Crop Week, let's look at fertilizers. Current information regarding the Saltwort Seed indicates it will be a "medium crop" with a long growth time of 12 hours. Consequently, we can use time-reducing fertilizers like Rapid Root or Sproutroot Surprize to cut that time in half, bringing it down to 6 hours.
A key feature of Sproutroot Surprize is that, in addition to reducing growth time, it provides a +0.2 Crop Yield bonus. This is perfect for the early stages of the event; since few crops will have reached the marketplace yet, high demand combined with low supply typically drives prices up initially.
We also have Sprout Mix, which guarantees a +0.2 Crop Yield boost and pairs well with a strategy involving Skills. For players with the "Instant Growth" skill—which allows you to instantly harvest all crops every 3 days—combining it with Sprout Mix ensures a larger instant harvest of Saltwort. Therefore, if you have this skill, try to have it ready to use right at the start of the event to maximize your returns.
Regarding Skills, if Saltwort is indeed classified as a "medium crop," it is highly likely that medium crop buffs will apply to it as well. For instance, there is the "Experienced Farmer" skill, which grants +0.1 Medium Crop Yield; There is also the Horror Mike, which provides a +0.1 yield boost within a 7x7 area; finally, there is the Hectare Farm, which guarantees a +1 yield for basic and medium crops.
It is worth noting that you can also use time-reduction boosts, such as the Time Warp Totem (which cuts time by 50%) or the Harvest Hourglass (which cuts time by 25%) during the event. However, since these are somewhat rare items, you need to weigh whether it is worth using them on these specific crops. One detail to consider is that significant time reduction means more seeds will be consumed, requiring you to restock more frequently.
Finally, here is a bonus tip—though it might not be directly applicable during the event itself—regarding the number of plots available for planting crops. It is a simple calculation: the more plots a player has, the more crops they can plant; however, this requires expanding the island or purchasing extra nodes using Sunstone. Speaking of expansion, there were changes to fees just before this event; players located in the desert who sell this new crop on the marketplace will incur an extra fee.
