Geopyxis carbonaria - Cup-shaped mushroom, consisting of a bowl and a stalk; first spherical, then hemispherical, shallower and more open; diameter 5-20 mm, smooth inside, ocher, pale orange, red-brown, matt, lighter, whitish or ocher on the top; edge slightly wrinkled, sometimes cracked with whitish teeth.

Shaft 5 to 10 mm high, 1 to 2 mm thick. White or ocher, slightly embedded in the ground.

Fragile, waxy flesh; without taste and smell.

Occurrence: In various places, most often in forests, but always on burns, remains of bonfires, charred wood; grows heavily; not very common. From spring to autumn.

Value: Inedible mushroom.
