Self-isolation and social distancing are proving to be very challenging for many, including me.
I'm taking this time to reach out to anyone who may be struggling with anxiety at this challenging time in our lives.
-I have dealt with anxiety at varying degrees since I was very young. Always being called the sky kid in school, I would find solitude being by myself behind a computer.
I am writing this post to let you know; you are not alone! The whole Uptrennd team and I are here to support anyone that may be struggling emotionally.

Here are a few things that I have found helpful to keep my spirits high.
Talking with others:
I have found that communicating with others is the best way for me to get out of my negative headspace. By expressing how I feel to another human, I have come to realize that many others are going threw high levels of stress/anxiety. Just knowing that I am not alone in my battle brings a strong sense of calm and peace into my life.
Now is the perfect time to reach out to distant family, high school friends and other acquaintances that you may not communicate with daily. You may not consider yourself to suffer from anxiety, but you never know who it is.
-Yesterday, I found myself in an especially gloomy mood. Out of the blue, an old high school friend reached out to me. Before I knew it 2 hours had gone by, and I was almost crying, I was laughing so hard.
Exercise/Yoga:
I have found that the perfect way to start any morning is by being kind to myself.
I start by sitting calmly on the floor and doing simple yoga and breathing exercises. By allowing myself to become grounded, it enables me to start my day off fresh without the fear or worry of the previous day.
After about only 10 minutes of stretching and deep breathing, I go straight into a HIT "High-Intensity Training" workout in my living room.
The closure of your local gym is no reason not to exercise. A HIT workout only takes between 15 to 20 mins, go on give it a try I promise that you will feel great after.
It is essential that after doing a HIT workout, you do some deep stretching to help ward off that sore feeling you get the day after a hard workout.
I complete my morning workout/yoga session in about 45 minutes and feel completely at peace with the world after doing something good for myself.
-Give it a try!
