Documenting a walk in the woods and the wildlife found along the way: Mallards, Woodpeckers, and more

Weekend Nature Walk: Feathered friends in my favorite woods

By tych0_21 | MyMycoBlog | 3 Apr 2021

Today I returned to one of my favorite woods near my home, a mixed conifer and hardwood forest whose floor is dotted with granite boulder left behind from receding glaciers some 12,000 years ago.

While on my walk today, I was visited by a few feathered friends, including a couple of beautiful Mallards that stopped by for a bath in the local pond. Attached are images of wildlife as well as the surrounding woods from my walk today. As always, please feel free to offer your corrections to my identifications if you believe I am mistaken!
