It is a story of IP addresses, Discord misunderstandings, failure to continue in conversations, and simple common sense.
Living in Mexico, I keep as busy as I can. Baking bread to sell, English classes, clearing out a large piece of land to grow veggies for the off-grid garden, and work online as well collecting crypto.
In other words, I don't have a lot of "free time" for nonsense like guys on Discord telling me to "explain" my logins.
The beginning of the story is a bit boring, but how it ended was out and out ridiculous.
So I had been a member of PipeFlare since late 2020, and in that time, up to just a few months ago, I had gained around 5,000 1FLR tokens.
I had them staking since the option was available, and would always restake them when I had a few minutes to check the account.
Then one day out of the blue, I tried to login, and I got the message that my account had been banned.
Obviously I thought it was a mistake, and tried again. When I got the message the second time, I checked their options to talk to them about it.
I went to discord and chatted with a few people before finding "the guy".
The conversation started out fine, and normal, and he was rather polite. I asked him to please check to see what had happened.
About 5 minutes later he came back and asked me if I had recently been to China, or Germany. I hadn't ever been to either of those countries so I told him that I hadn't.
He left to look up how I could reopen my account, and when he returned, he started acting like it was time to interrogate me.
His first question was about how I had gotten ahold of nearly 5,000 1FLR tokens without purchasing any, or playing any games in just 1 month.
I explained that I had the account for almost 2 years, and I always got the tokens, and other coins using the faucet, and that I had never bought any.
He asked me to explain my login activity. At this I was shocked, and said that sometimes I login from different places like McDonald's, or Starbucks, or other public WiFi, but never from any other country.
He then asked me to prove it.
I said how can I prove I log in from the places I said. I wasn't going to walk around town to login to the website to prove it. That would have taken hours and I had an English class to teach.
He then said that I needed to prove I had the account since 2020, and I asked him to give me a few minutes to check my emails, and he said sure.
It took me about 10 minutes to find my account creation email, and I copied it and returned to discord to show him.
That was when I noticed the icon for PipeFlare was gone. I searched for it, and tried to enter, and it said I was banned!
The little jerk didn't have an ounce of integrity, and banned me before I could show him the proof.
I was so upset that I decided to just abandon the site, and never look back.
I had 2,500 tokens staking for the yearly plan, and the remaining 2,350 in the other plans.
I now see that a hacker got into my account, but they didn't change anything, not even the password, so what was going on?
I may never get to the bottom of this insanity, and I have given up on PipeFlare all together, not because I was banned from the site, because hackers hack stuff, but because their "support" was not at all respectful, but rather rude and later banned me!
If you all know of a way to bypass this nonsense and see about getting the account back, let me know in the comments below.
