About two weeks ago, I read an article in Variety that talked about how DC Comics was going to have an event called Fandome. For those who registered an account before October 5th, they would receive a free NFT of one of 15 original comics covers.
But, to make the deal even sweeter, if you Tweeted the NFT out, they would give you a second NFT. So, I registered, and waited for the 5th. After varifying the email, they gave me a link with a voucher code to generate the NFT.
Since it is the first time DC Comics has ever done anything like this, I of course was excited to join and see what kind of NFT I would receive. After a few missteps, and emails explaining the proper steps, I finally received the NFT, and quickly tweeted it out and shortly after received the second one.
The first NFT was Jessica Cruz Green Lantern, RARE, and the second after tweeting that one out, was Batman and the Court of Owls, COMMON. Not that I will hold on to them, but I am wanting to see what they are worth before letting them go. Having even one is great, but having two is 10 times better and one of them is rare. And they only have three levels. Common, Rare, Legendary.
So, what now? Well, DC Fandome is going to be on October 16th, and we were told to wait. For what I am not sure. Apparently something is going to be revealed about the NFTs during that event, and I for one am excited to know why my NFTs are in the form of a floppy disk, and a CD. Storage devices for sure, but to know their full potential, we will have to wait a few more days.
DC Comics is well known all over the world, and being a part of this first time ever DC Comics free NFT drop is a serious deal. You can still attend the Fandome on the 16th, but getting the NFTs is now out of the question.
Just go over to dcfandome.com to register for Fandome. (I dont get anything for this link because there are NO referral earnings.)
Adieu!
