Back in 2009, when Bitcoin was first coming on the scene, I wasn't the best person to be around.
I was constantly begging my childhood friends for money, because of my addiction, but they never gave me any, so I cut ties with the majority of them.
I was homeless, almost to the point of begging for scraps, infested with bedbugs, and making shady deals behind dumpsters.
Not for drugs, or other bad stuff of that sort, (those deals were done in McDonald's parking lots, and parks) but with electronics and tools that were "found" across the city.
Now, yes, my christian cowboy rancher upbringing came to an end when I was just about a year away from graduating highschool.
My father had sold the ranch, and we now had to find jobs, and since I was just turning into an adult, I found work digging ditches, and harvesting potatoes.
After graduation, in 1994, I had several jobs, and very little in savings.
I moved all over the country and couldn't keep a job due to a growing addiction.
It caused my downfall in 2009, that I already talked about in another post, where life was difficult.
It just so happens that in the same year, Bitcoin was released to zero fanfare.
I didn't hear about until 2011, and even then I didn't know what was going on.
I've never had a full Bitcoin, but came close back in 2012, about 8 or nine months later...that was eventually taken from me because as the saying goes, a fool is soon departed from his wealth...
But, 2012 was a turning point for me. I stopped feeling sorry for myself, and took action.
As some of you remember, I helped start Vertacoin, a once virtual currency, that the programmers turned into a Bitcoin clone.
I walked across America to get people into crypto, until the group we started disbanded and the coin failed... miserably.
I kept jumping over the cracks that I once kept falling over, until I was free of the insanity.
Now, 2023, after those years of loss and pain, it's hard to see where I would be if I hadn't pressed through those times.
I would have never guessed that internet friends would have such an influence on my future
Baking bread has changed my life. And still after several months, I am trying to get more people interested in Bitcoin, and still several months away from making my business 50/50, cash/Bitcoin.
Seems crazy, but here we are ..
I believe that 2024 will be the best year for the business, and it all has to do with some of the best people.
Not just where I am, but here on PublishOx.
You guys/gals have listened to me, helped me along, and encouraged me when I was doubting myself and my abilities.
The people on Bastyon have been there for me as well, like really no friend has, because through some tough times, they helped me, mentally, and financially as well.
My success is due to you all, and believe me when I say that I am grateful...
