A Real BASTYON of Free Speech...

By CodyMac50 | MyCripticLife | 8 Nov 2021

For some time now I have been talking about Bastyon. A decentralized social media platform that has a real use case. I have talked a lot about free speech and how big tech is deplatforming people simply because they disagree with their ideologies...

We have seen the likes of Parler take a hit, and watching as more and more folks are losing their right to use their voice.

I understand that there are several decentralized social media platforms popping up and others that have been around for a few years now. And that is all fine and dandy, but the reality of the matter is, they are not Bastyon. And why does that matter?

When the next level of censorship arrives, it will inevitably affect domains. They will be blocked or seized.

This was from their September 15th update. So what has Bastyon done to assure you will be able to access the site...

Bastyon desktop app does not need a website AT ALL. It is set up to look for working nodes around the globe and even use its own proxy to connect to them.

This is a huge step forward for social media. And they continue...

What if bastyon.com is blocked in some specific country? It doesnt matter because the desktop app doesnt depend on a website. What if a certain country tries to stop the traffic between the nodes (very difficult, but possible with something called Deep Packet Inspection)?
...if there is at least ONE node in the network that is in that country and can connect to the working nodes in other countries/regions (say, via satellite or some other way), then the whole network operates as if nothing happened. This is the next level of censorship resistance.

Recently they released what they call, the Bastyon Code of Honor. And an chat feature, and their peer to peer video release...

...we now released the peer to peer video player that is based on PeerTubes framework. It uses WebRTC to enable users to supply each other with bits of the video as you are watching it together. In the long run this is the only way to create an alternative to YouTube, since video bandwidth and servers are expensive. But with peer to peer video sharing, Bastyons capacity is greatly increased!

Bastyon, (Formerly PocketNet), dev team is putting out a call for more developers. the languages we need are C++ and Javascript. If you would like to change the internet forever and stick it to Big Tech, while earning PKOIN, please send your resume to [email protected]

Thank you all for reading and please sign up using my referral link...obviously I do get a small amount of PKOIN but only for 3 months...
