Welcome to the monthly review of my token portfolio, I started tracking this portfolio now 46 months ago in full transparency. I provide updates of the interests received, the services used and the transactions performed during the month. This post tracks what happened in December 2023.

Crypto interests

The portfolio earnings reached $6409 this month, that's a 44% increase from the previous month. The following tokens (including any kind of airdrops, mining, staking, interest rewards, browsing interest, Publish0x payments, and any kind of promo code or referee bonus) contributed to the earnings. They are ordered from the largest to the lowest contribution:

  • 77511 LIT from Liquis as rewards to the tokens provided to the DOLA/USDC liquidity pool on Ethereum.
  • 58051 LIQ from Liquis as rewards to the tokens provided to the DOLA/USDC liquidity pool on Ethereum.
  • 2058 CRV from Convex Finance as reward for my contributions to the Frax/tBTC/frxETH liquidity pool.
  • 244 ARB from Trader Joe as reward for my contribution to the WBTC/ETH liquidity pool on Arbitrum.
  • 8805 ORETRO from Merkl as reward for my contribution to the WBTC/ETH liquidity pool on Polygon.
  • 0.042 ETH from GMX as reward from staking my GMX tokens, from the ETH vault on Umami on Arbitrum.

The following diagram depicts the evolution of the received monthly crypto interests:

Transactions realized

Beginning of the month,

  • I claimed my LIQ and LIT rewards from Liquis and Timeless and converted everything into ETH.
  • I claimed my ETH rewards from GMX and swapped it to ARB to handle the ARB reward vesting on Umami.

Middle of the month,

  • I claimed my LIQ and LIT rewards from Liquis and Timeless and purchased $1000 of COW tokens. I converted the rest into ETH.
  • I removed the funds from the Frax/tBTC/frxETH liquidity pool on Convex Finance as the APY decreased to around 11%. I decided to split the funds into 2 WBTC/ETH liquidity pools (Trader Joe on Arbitrum and Merkl on Polygon) for between 15% and 20% APY and added the stable coins to the DOLA/USDC liquidity pool on Liquis for around 40% APY.
  • I claimed my CRV/CVX rewards from Convex Finance related to the the Frax/tBTC/frxETH liquidity pool and converted them into WBTC/ETH for the new pools.
  • I moved my HNT and IOT rewards from my Helium wallet to my Solana wallet. I converted all the IOT rewards to SOL and put most of my SOL and HNT in a liquidity pool on Orca.

End of the month,

  • I claimed my LIQ and LIT rewards from Liquis rewards and purchased $1000 of AIOZ tokens. I converted the rest into ETH.
  • I claimed the ORETRO rewards from Merkl, converted it into WBTC/ETH and added it back to the pool.
  • I claimed the ARB reward from Trader Joe, converted it into WBTC/ETH and added it back to the pool.

Evolution of the portfolio value

  • The portfolio finished the month with a gain of $15.9K which is +6.26%.
  • The performances of the main components of the portfolio were all very good: WBTC(+14.17%), ETH(+12.6%), GMX(+13.8%).

Portfolio evolution

  • The stable coins allocation is now 47.1%. It is a mix DOLA and USDC tokens.
  • I updated my portfolio allocation plan again this month, it is now the following:
    • keep the stable coin allocation between 60% and 40% of the portfolio and keep it high enough so that if the non-stable coins come back to their lowest price in the period, the value of the portfolio will still be higher than the value invested.
    • At the end of the month
      • if the stable coins allocation goes higher than the range, sell stable coins and buy non-stable coins to go back in the middle of the range
      • if the stable coins allocation goes lower than the range, sell non-stable coins and buy stable coins to go back in the middle of the range
    • For the non stable coins allocation
      • Keep at least 50% in ETH/WBTC
      • Rest in good coins, currently my good coins list is in this order WBTC/ETH/GMX/IMX/UMAMI/COW/AIOZ.
      • Avoid staying invested very long in bad coins.
    • For the interest reinvestment strategy, I'll reinvest what is not auto-compounded in the "non-stable good coins" list if the stable coin allocation is higher than 50%, I'll reinvest them in stable coins otherwise.

Portfolio allocation

Here is the portfolio value compared to the value invested and the interest received.

Portfolio value vs capital invested

The portfolio performance is +6.26% this month,  the historical average is now +5.35%.

Performance history

Things to look forward in January

In December I added small investments in COW and AIOZ and I cleaned up my Solana wallets, I'll continue on that path in January 2024 and I'm curious to see if we'll finally get the BTC ETF and what will be the related price actions.
