What Was The First Religion in Human History? The Answer Will Surprise You
When we think of "religion" we imagine mosques, churches, and temples.
But the first religion in human history was nothing like that.
So what was the very first religion?
**1. Shamanism - Spirit Worship for 100,000 Years**
Before any temple. Before any holy book.
Early humans believed everything had a spirit.
The tree, the stone, the river, the animals.
They gave offerings to spirits to protect them from hunger and sickness.
This is called "Animism" and it’s the oldest form of religion.
**2. The Proof: Göbekli Tepe Temple - 9600 BC**
Archaeologists found a temple in Turkey that’s 12,000 years old.
The shocking part?
It was built BEFORE farming and BEFORE cities.
That means humans built a place of worship before they settled down!
It has pillars with carvings of animals they worshipped.
**3. Then Came Sun and Moon Worship**
After Shamanism, humans started worshipping big forces.
The Sun that gives life.
The Moon that controls the tides.
Then came the many gods of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt.
**4. First Monotheistic Religion: Zoroastrianism - 3500 Years Ago**
This was the first religion to say "One God" before Judaism.
This is where the ideas of Heaven, Hell, and good vs evil came from.
**The Conclusion:**
The first religion had no book and no prophet.
It was fear + respect + hope.
Humans have always been searching for meaning.
What do you think? Did you expect the first religion was spirit worship?
