Malawi Records Its First Coronavirus Death

Coronavirus is everywhere killing innocent individuals, making young children orphans and ridden people of happiness.

Malawi, the African country has recorded it’s first Coronavirus death and also added 3 new positive cases to it’s overall tally on Tuesday, April 7,2020. The total infections recorded in the country is 8.

According to the country’s health minister and chairman of the COVID-19 cabinet committee, Jappie Mhango, the deceased victim is a 51 years old lady who lost her life in Blantyre on early Tuesday morning.

The sad news was first reported by the Malawian news website, Malawi24. The website reported that the lady was an indian who had recently visited the African country from the United Kingdom.

The health minister was quoted by Malawi24 as saying “She had an underlying medical condition. Our Blantyre District Health Office and Environmental Health team is assisting with the burial arrangements. As a nation we grieve with the family of the deceased and I urge you all to respect their privacy.”

As of the three cases recorded today, two were recorded in Blantyre with the remaining one in Chikwawa. Overall only I cases has been recorded so far. Uganda is one of the countries with tmleast record of the global pandemic Coronavirus.

Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa are some of the African countries with over 200 positive cases so far.
