Ok, I am finally back on the grid after a week away. For the first time in I can't remember when, I separated myself from my little electronic leash. My wife and I picked up our older son in South Carolina and road tripped back to Houston over 5 days with stops in Chattanooga and New Orleans.
Now, with two youngish boys, one would think it would have been a little Clark Griswold-like of an experience (kids - go watch "Vacation"). Couldn't have been farther from the truth. The best moment came when we got home and my older son (who has been away from us for awhile) said to me - "That was such a fantastic trip. Thank you."
Aside from fatherly pride overflowing, I felt a complete sense of happiness with a huge grin on my face. That's all I wanted for the family and it didn't cost an arm and a leg (Thank you, unused pandemic credit card points). I am still here to help discuss some great crypto projects that I firmly believe will help us all get to that point where money will hopefully be enough to do what YOU want and not your boss.
It's not about the price of the trip. It's about that time we can't get back. Just cherish it and trust your kids - they just need your time and attention to feel special.
Summer is upon us. Go make it happen. Always live your best lives and remember work will always be there.
