Making a million is a dream of many people. It takes hard work, dedication, and a bit of luck to achieve it. But how to do it if you don't have big investments or a business? One way might be to go to work in another country where you can earn more money than at home. That is exactly what I did. I went to work in America for the summer, earning my first million...
It was, of course, not a million dollars, but a million in my currency (at that time the exchange rate was about $1 - 380). Nevertheless, for me it was a huge achievement.
I was a student and wanted to earn money to pay my expenses and help my parents. I started looking for a job in my city, but did not find anything suitable. Then I decided to participate in the Work&Travel program.
I found a job as a chef assistant in a restaurant with a $12/hour payment. I collected all the necessary documents, passed an interview at the embassy and they gave me a visa.
I worked hard every day, for at least 55 hours a week (the maximum came out to be 94 hours. It was a week of the holiday in honor of Independence Day!). I started saving every dollar and kept all the money in a bank deposit with a 14% APY.
Despite the fact that I worked a lot, that summer turned out to be one of the most entertaining ones. I met a lot of interesting people from different countries. I was able to go to parties. I saw a couple of cities in the US, that I always dreamed of going to since childhood.
Of course, it was not all fun and games. There were some problems too. Over the summer, my friends and I managed to be threatened with deportation, and someone threatened to harm our lives. One person got alcohol poisoning! We even managed to visit local hospitals and police stations haha.
By the end of the summer, I had made about $15,000 in total, and a lot of memories. I managed to bring home about $8,000, because I spent the rest over the summer on housing, food and souvenirs for my family (and I have a huge family! I had to buy a separate suitcase just for gifts!)
When I returned home, I presented gifts to all my relatives and told about my adventures. I gave my parents $5,000 and paid for my studies.
By the time I returned, the dollar had risen even more against my currency. And in the end, I was left with about 1,300,000 in my currency!
After returning home, I continued to work hard and tried to put some money aside every month. It's been 4 years since then, and I'm thinking about a similar opportunity. Next year I want to go work on farms in the UK for six months. The payment is about £11/hour, and the exchange rate is around £1 - 570.
Right now I am diligently studying the stock and crypto-currency markets. I want to start investing and finally earn my first million dollars!
In conclusion, making a million dollars is not an easy task, but it's entirely possible. It takes hard work, dedication, and a bit of luck. If you have a passion for something and are willing to put in the effort, you can achieve your goals and make your dreams a reality
