One of the most ridiculous problems of cycling as a girl in Iran, at any age, thirty or even eight years old, is encountering small boys.
Funny but true!
The bitter and shameful truth of Iranian society is little boys who think cycling is just an honor provided specifically for them! Boys who grew up in families with a bold ignorant custom that considers the bicycle riding their one and only legacy, and an ugly habit for females!
It's like taking candy from a baby!
Little boys who consider themselves bicycle owners in Iran and the presence of any female on a bike (in any age and condition) is inconceivable to them. They have been raised in a community with the idea that girls should be somewhere else, doing girly stuff, should not ride bicycles on the streets, and find it even insulting sometimes! if they do not say it out loud, only their eyes are cruel.
Their brains are not formed, so the only way is just to wait for them to grow up and gain some understanding. They may become wise someday and distance themselves from the threadbare culture their families have taught them.
But until then, they are little devil soldiers in the streets that you can not do anything with them because they are small and innocent
Dealing with these little boys is one of the most ridiculous problems of cycling as a female in Iranian society, and this is the funniest unpleasant problem that a generation may have to face.
