I searched for you—through time, through moments, through this ever-darkened era. And at last, I found you.
Do you want to know what it was that I found?
I’ll tell you in just a moment…
Every now and then, I would set out on my bike, gliding through nature, the wind weaving whispers around me. These rides became a ritual, a gateway to another world. With each journey, I found myself immersed in a new circle of friendships, a network of souls so different from the ones I had known before.
The story of how I met them is a tale worth telling—but not today.
Wherever we went, no matter how breathtaking the scenery, my gaze was always cast downward. I wasn’t searching for paths or obstacles—I was searching for stones. They had become everything to me. Their colors, their textures, their quiet allure. Each one a mystery waiting to be held, to be known.
Then came that day.We were passing through a forest, the sunlight filtering through the leaves in golden streaks, when my eyes caught sight of something—something special. A stone, unlike any I had seen before, beckoned to me from the earth. Without a second thought, I stopped my bike.
By the time I looked up, my friends had disappeared down the path. I hadn’t even noticed how far I had fallen behind.
My phone rang, pulling me back to the present. It was my dear friend, my steadfast companion. I answered, breathlessly.
Without hesitation, he asked, “So, did you get lost in the forest, or did you find another stone?”
His words made me laugh—yet he was on the point perfectly.
That red stone became something more than just a find. I shaped it into a heart and gave it to my sister, a small piece of the earth transformed into a token of love.
These are strange times.
Yesterday, I was sifting through old photographs, lost in memories, searching for something I knew had slipped away from me long ago. And then, just like that, I found it again.
Ah! That’s right—I remember now.
It was my smile… wasn’t it?
