Since LTCMiner has been reliably sending me 2 cents each day (See my post about LTCMiner here) I have been on the look out for other types of these cloud mining sites. I came across StartMiner the other day. Reading reviews online, it appears they are well known for being highly questionable. They do not allow daily withdrawals for the free version like LTCMiner, but only a withdrawal once you get to a high threshold – which is 0.005 BTC. And you need to login once a day to reconnect the free “miner” in order for it to continue to accumulate or else it pauses.
I read that what happens is when you finally submit the withdrawal request they then send a message stating that it will take 5+ days to process but to speed things up you can pay for an upgrade. At which point, it sounds like once you pay for the upgrade you can’t withdraw all that you thought you could. At any rate – I should be able to confirm how the free variation actually works in about 12 days – once I reach their minimum threshold. I will update once that happens.
Next up, finding an ETH and DOGE version of these types of sites.
UPDATE 4/9/21:
If you do not login on the page enough it "disconnects" and pauses calculating. You will see this message.

Eventually you will reach the threshold and you can click Withdraw. Then when you go to your accounts information page you will see the following warning with recommendation to upgrade. If you do not upgrade the withdrawal stays in the Pending state for 5+ days (which basically means forever).

Oh well - that is the end of the experiment with this site.
If I am going to send money to a website it will not be to this one. I will send it to BitcoLoan. I am getting a daily payout from that site for lending my Crypto.
