The Evmos airdrop has been one of the most highly anticipated crypto airdrops in the last couple of months. I have covered this airdrop and JunoSwap´s $RAW airdrop in one of my last articles so I will not talk about the specifics of Evmos here.
In brief: Evmos will provide a connection between the Ethereum and Cosmos ecosystems and act as a gateway for Ethereum users and developers into the Cosmos ecosystem.
You can find all the necessary information in this article by Evmos: The Evmos Rektdrop.
How to claim the Evmos airdrop
There have been some difficulties with claiming the airdrop and, as far as I can see, the main airdrop claim page still does not allow you to claim your tokens.
I have been eligible as a $ATOM staker so I am using my eligible Keplr wallet for this. If you have been eligible through some other route, you might need to look for another guide. Also, I am not using a Ledger, which seems to cause most problems. There already is a workaround for these users, though.
However, you can still claim 75% of your airdrop right now and start earning massive staking rewards on your Evmos.
1. Check whether or not you are eligible
There are a plethora of ways to be eligible for this one as they want to reward active users of the Cosmos ecosystem as well as “victims” of gas fees on Ethereum as well as people who lost money in large exploits.
You might be eligible for this one if you have staked >5 $ATOM and/or >20 $OSMO on November 25th 2021 and one of the following applies to you:
- Cosmos Hub User
- Osmosis User
- User of a range of Ethereum apps (the “gasdrop”)
- User of EVM Bridges (Arbitrum, Wormhole, etc)
- Victim of large exploit/rug pull
For more details, please have a look at the official airdrop announcement.
To check your eligibility, you can use the main airdrop page gotrekt.com.
2. Find your Evmos address
To find your Evmos address, open your Keplr Wallet, switch to Evmos (beta), and copy the Evmos address shown there.
3. Send a small transaction to your Evmos address
I have sent a 0.01 $OSMO transaction to my Evmos address and this did the trick. Through this, I have been able to claim 25% of my Evmos airdrop.
To do this, I have used the IBC transfer option (make sure to activate it in the settings of Keplr).

Before you can send the transfer, you might need to set up Evmos as channel 204.
4. Stake your Evmos
To unlock the next 25% of your airdrop, you need to stake your tokens. As a precaution, I usually leave some (~1%) of my tokens unstaked for gas.
I staked my tokens via https://evmos.disperze.network/validators

Staking 99% of my tokens unlocked the next 25% of my Evmos airdrop.
5. Participate in Evmos governance
To unlock the next 25% of your airdrop, you need to vote on a governance proposal.
Currently, there only is the airdrop claim mission to vote on: https://evmos.disperze.network/proposals

Voting on this proposal has allowed me to claim the next 25% of my airdrop, for a total of 75%.
Next steps
Claiming the final 25% of the airdrop currently is not possible so you´ll have to keep an eye on this in the next couple of days.
The staking rewards for $Evmos currently are huge (I have read 6,000% on Twitter today) and I am staking as much $Evmos as possible to benefit from this.
Currently, $Evmos is not listed on any exchange and there are no liquidity pools, yet. A liquidity pool on Osmosis might come pretty soon, though, and I´ll definitely participate in it.
