Idiosynkratische Tonstücke für die Orgel: III. Wasserkreise im Herbst [Philip Daniel; 2020]

By PhilipDaniel | Musica Melopoetica | 16 Feb 2021

Third in a series of "Idiosyncratic Tone-Pieces" for concert organ (the instrument ideally of the "French Symphonic" variety). An autumnal, lyrical adagietto playable on the manuals alone, featuring some richly-hued, slow-burning harmonies within a gossamer contrapuntal web. (Besides the symphonic organ, this piece is suitable for the art-harmonium.) The painting in the video is "The Seine at Giverny, Morning Mists" by Claude Monet.
