The philosopher/political scientist/author/blogger/podcaster Justin Murphy commissioned me to compose intro music for his podcast "The Other Life". Within a short period, I composed a sweet tune that nonetheless possesses a certain roiling chromatic turmoil beneath its delicate diatonic surface.

Justin Murphy has since provided a testimonial to my skills as a composer of podcast intro music, which reads: "If all you want is another podcast jingle, don’t commission Philip. If you want something truly unique, artful, and professional — from an eccentric internet composer in the romantic tradition — talk to Philip. I honestly don’t know anyone else on the internet who will give you this kind of professional quality for such an affordable price, with such a quick turnaround."

The painting in the video is "The Bay of Baiae, with Apollo and the Sibyl" by Joseph Mallord William Turner.
