Breaking Music: A Tribute to Grant McLennan by Allister Thompson

The unfortunately much too early deceased Grant McLennan of the Go-Betweens remains unforgotten. Later this month the Canadian songwriter Allister Thompson will release a tribute album with the title "No Reason to Cry: Songs by Grant McLennan".

As an advance video there is a version of the song "Dusty in Here" taken from the Go-Betweens album "Before Hollywood" released in 1983. It shows a respectful handling of the song material and it seems that this could be a really beautiful singer-songwriter release.

McLennan had died of a heart attack in 2006 at the age of only 48 years.
Besides the works of his band Go-Betweens, his 3 solo albums "Watershed", "Horsebreaker Star" and "In your bright ray" are true classics.
