I have read multiple reports today, that paint a dim economic forecast. I have witnessed inflation on a personal basis, for multiple months, in a row.
I do the majority of my grocery shopping, in one or two trips each month. Since I live out in the country, i limit my trips to town in order to keep down transportation costs. On each and every trip, to the grocery stores, i have witnessed a steady increase of prices. Some are subtle, and some are not so subtle. Sometimes the price increase is only a few cents, and sometimes it is much more! For instance, i usually buy a big bag of Chocolate Pebbles cereal. The price, i paid for a bag of this cereal, was around $5.50 during the first week of last December. Then in January, the same bag was priced at a little over $6. When I went to get a bag, the first week of this month, the price has risen to $7.50. Not all items are experiencing such a dramatic climb in prices, but neither is this an exception to the norm. Many necessities are costing more these days. If this is a sign of things to come, and most likely it is, then we are in for a rude awakening! Most especially if governments continue to print money - out of thin air!
In order to keep the public's attention, off of the hard facts, the Fake Stream Media has steeped up it's Fear mongering campaign, centered around the manufactured Covid-19 Fake pandemic. Publicly, the United States Unemployment number is being reported a little over 6%. In reality, even some top government officials are saying it is closer to 10 or 11%. I am just scratching the surface of some very serious factors, that have been brought to my attention today.
As I monitored BitCoin prices, on and off today, I never saw it fall below $47k each. I was hoping to catch a dip, and build my holding back up a little bit. I have now begun to wonder if it will ever drop below $47k again. As more and more people are becoming aware of the Ugly Economic Probabilities, they are rushing to place their wealth into anti-inflation instruments. The most obvious trends point to BitCoin, Silver, and Gold. While the Exchanges report little changed prices, for Precious Metals, the reality of acquiring said Metals say something entirely different! In most places, they are out of stock! When you can find them, they are now priced far out of my range! Many common Silver Coins that can be found on auctions, which sold for $5 to $8 each, just a few months ago, are now selling for $18 to $25 each!
I am at the point now, where i don't know if I should take some of my Precious Metals Coins off of the market, and retain them for possible future need. I am becoming unsure if the fiat, i am asking for them, will retain it's value in the near term, let alone long term.
CryptoCurrencies are nice, and they can be converted to fiat. But, there is still no well developed Economic systems where they can be used to directly purchase goods and services. Governments are increasing their efforts to regulate and control CryptoCurrencies, as well as find ways to heavily tax them. There are also a large number of other factors that could effect them, including(but certainly not limited too) power grids, Cyber attacks, and the multitude of scams. With that being said, I have now reached the point, where I am placing my focus on building back up my holdings of Crypto.
Precious Metals also carry their fair share of risks. With that being said, they are a much more accepted form of commerce, in the general public. I still believe the best approach is to place your assets into several different baskets. As I build back up my Crypto Holdings, I suggest that your build up a supply of Rare Coins, and those consisting of Precious Metals.
