It's been almost a month and a half at home. The only place I went to was the supermarket. Given that this movie will feature some numbers so I decided to watch with my cousin who majored in accounting. 
This movie talks about how two African Americans came to owning two banks in the middle of Texas. The movie stars Samuel L. Jackson as Joe Morris, a successful businessman in Los Angeles. And Anthony Mackie as Bernard Garret also known as the Falcon in MCU. 
Bernard was obsessed as to how white people make money, so he started working on himself while he was a kid and study carefully what the white men would say when he was cleaning their shoes. Bit by bit, he eventually grew up to be a genius with numbers, if numbers were a language he'd speak it fluently. Sensing that there is no future for blacks in Texas, he took his family to California where they had just a little more choices. Bernard had an eye for buildings, he could see the potential of each one. So, he ventured in real estate and soon made a friend with a white guy who treated him fairly and equally. When he was just on the rise his friend died, and his wife took over the business and kicked Bernard out of the partnership with a big loss. Now, he had to look elsewhere, here is where his wife came into play. She introduced him to Joe Morris who already was successful. But, Bernard wanted more and so needed the help from Joe to progress. Until now the movie seemed exciting and was accurate, he faced racism left and right, and even if he didn't he received demeaning looks by white people. Garret had set his sight on the Banker's building where most banks located in Los Angeles headquartered. At that time, having a black face run the building would have scared everyone away. Therefore, to pull it off, they trained Matt Steiner (their white friend), to negotiate and be the face of the business while Bernard took care of the books. 
Owning the Banker's building wasn't enough for Bernard. He wanted to fulfill his dreams and buy a bank in Texas. Here comes the trouble, a black owning a bank in Texas can't be kept a secret for long. Joe even was against this move but apparently, he wanted some action in his life. They bought the first bank the same way they got the Banker's building with Matt acting as president. Everything goes south when Matt's wife starts pushing him for him to be the real owner of a bank. With only 3 months of banking experience, Matt was absolutely not ready to direct a bank. But Joe and Bernard couldn't back out from the agreement with each other. So, they ended up buying a second bank. Matt messes up left and right and doesn't listen to the advice given by Bernard which ultimately ended causing chaos and confusion. Given that Matt was white so he was treated differently and took a plea deal testifying against Morris and Garret. The latters were arrested for violating banking laws.
After being released from prison, Joe and Bernard went to the Bahamas where they also did business but weren't as successful to the work they did in the USA. 
Now, my take on the movie, it was somewhat exciting. It started very well but gradually became worse. It was accurate, but you might find a bit confusing with all the percentages and numbers but it's fine there is no need to focus on them. What I like best is how they rose to prominence by working in the shadows.
