Fool's gold (2008)

Sitting home for quite some time now due to the coronavirus. I have to do something to pass the time. I was already at my cousin's and we decided to watch an action movie.
At first glance, it was weird for me to see Matthew McConaughey (Finn) in this role, as I was used to seeing him in serious roles. In this movie, this was not the case. He was a doofus obsessed with treasure hunting and married to brains. This is the first time I watch a movie where Kate Hudson (Tess) is acting, I found her to be fit in this role. Basically, she married Finn to satisfy her sexual needs. And, Finn needed her to solve the mystery of the lost treasure. Another actor that surprised me was Kevin Hart (Bigg Bunny), this guy is awesome and just seeing him as a bad guy did the job.
The movie starts with Finn and his associate Alfonz deep in the waters searching for clues to find the treasure. The irony here is that his associate is Ukrainian and his name most certainly is Spanish. You can consider both of them as stupids and living their life carelessly. They blew up the boat in a very weird way, then they proceeded to Bigg Bunny asking for more money or a boat that permits them to continue their adventure. At the same time, Tess has had enough with Finn's childish behavior and so filed for a divorce. Due to the problems Finn ran into, he was unable to be on time for the divorce hearing. This resulted in an immediate divorce with Tess getting everything (as if Finn had anything).
While Tess was working onboard a Millionaire yacht, she was surprised to see her ex-husband sitting with Nigel Honeycutt the owner of the yacht. Finn was invited aboard after rescuing his hat's daughter, Gemma Honeycutt. Gemma is a typical Millionaire daughter, her purpose is to only spend money on clothes and travel. Plus she turned out to be even stupider than Finn. After that, they all agreed to pursue this long lost treasure. In the meantime, they should be faster because Bigg Bunny hired someone to get him this treasure. Right before the end, Tess was caught by Bigg Bunny and strapped next to him on a small plane. Finn produced amazing heroics to save his love life and despite not having any experience in flying the place he was kind of able to land the plane (PlayStation effect). In the end, and after many struggles Finn and Tess found the treasure.
All in all, it's not a wow, breathtaking, staggering movie. It's pretty basic, you'll have a few laughs. There are also a few exaggerated stunts here and there. But, don't get me wrong they were nice. I'd recommend this movie it's good enough to pass the time.
