This series is controversial, it talks about what happens between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Although they don't say that it's a true story, according to my father it is very very close to reality. The BBC published a documentary based on the Fauda.
In my personal opinion, this series showed that the Palestinians are the bad guys. Despite being the ones dominated by Israel. But the Islamic Palestinians are crueler, they kill left and right, even if civilians were to get injured and killed. It is also worth mentioning that they used official movement or political party names like Hamas, Fateh and ISIS later on in season 2. What was weird is that they never said the name of Israeli secret service which is the Mossad.
The story in season 1 is simple, the secret service is after "Al Fahed", terrorist responsible for the death of over 100 Israelites. Doron, one of the main actors, thought he had killed him and went into retirement. Having known that he didn't get the job done, he is asked to come back. Doron became obsessed with killing Al Fahed that he started to rarely check on his family which later caused Gali, his wife, to betray him with another man. Over the course of the twelve episodes, we see both sides what are capable of doing. Although my father is not very convinced that the Palestinians have this much technology. While from my side, they made it seem very easy for the Israeli agents to infiltrate Palestine. And rarely their cover is blown. We see all sorts of action: kidnapping, killing, interrogations. Now concerning interrogations, the actor is amazing, when in Israel he is called Gabi and when with Palestinians he is known as Captain Ayoub. His interrogation skills are amazing, the way he approaches the target and manipulates him to his own gain is amazing. In addition, he has a good relationship with "Al Amen Al Wikaii" who mainly are Fateh (a party willing to go forward not like Hamas who have a terrorist mentality).
Like always, there are problems between the operation leader and the agents on the field. One decision proved to be deadly as one agent was sent on field duty but wasn't ready and this what ultimately caused his death. Doron always thinks he's right about everything which mainly resulted in problems for the unit to the point where the minister of defense had to intervene. Also, there are many highlights of loyalty and betrayal. Captain Ayoub always found a way to let Palestinians turn their back on each other, in one case he convinced the wife of "Al Fahed" to go to Berlin, her home country.
I can't talk about all twelve episodes, but what I can tell you that it's worth watching, especially because of quarantine. Don't worry about watching it even if you were Lebanese. Because I did.
