Wanna fit in? .....Forget it

I've been thinking a lot lately. Society has this ridiculous playbook that we’re all expected to follow. You know what I'm saying. There's a certain way we're expected to act, talk and even think! It's like a script for a bad movie (for lack of better words) that no one asked to play a role in.

"Being your own person" is --sort of cliche these days. Nobody is even trying. You might not notice much, but apart from differences in how we dress, everyone is almost the same. Where's that spark ...-that charisma that we wore years ago? If you ask me, there isn't much of it left.

And why do we do this to ourselves? Sorry, -- why do you do this to yourself? Because we’re conditioned to believe that acceptance is the ultimate goal. Let's be frank. Everyone wants to be accepted. Every single person wants to belong. But there's no such thing as truly fitting in. It’s a never-ending cycle of trying to impress people who, let’s face it, probably don’t care about us as much as we think they do. The irony? The more we try to fit in, the more we lose ourselves in the process.

I wish the world was --varied. I love watching superhero movies. Have you ever noticed how no two heroes (or villains ) are the same? Each has their own powers, motives, and so on. Can't you see we're stuck in a cycle. You should go to school, get a degree, find a stable job, settle down, have a family, and ...die. Your kids and their kids will just rinse and repeat. Sounds sad right?

But what if you don’t want to play that game? What if you want to be different? Well, people will think you're crazy. That's why only the people with the strongest wills can make the hardest choices (see what I did there?) Ahem, the point is...the program is designed to wipe out all intruders and people who don't want to fit in the cursed puzzle.

The reason I'm saying you can never fit in is because of the standards and criteria. They're not your own. I've seen people who have fallen into depression cause, well....."I'm not good enough" "Why don't I look like my neighbor, she's so pretty" (Hold that thought)
The pressure to reach these unattainable standards is suffocating.

Now let's play office politics. The corporate world is one of hit or miss. You have to laugh at the manager's terrible jokes just to get ahead. Nobody cares about your brilliant ideas. Keep them to yourself. If they don't fit in the company's graph, they out the door.

So why keep watching the movie? Well, maybe if we walk out of the theatre, we'll be the only ones on the street. But maybe, just maybe. We can see opportunities no one will ever see. Because here’s the truth: fitting in is overrated. It takes guts to stand out. You should just accept yourself....and all your flaws. At the end of the day, being original is always better than being a cheap duplicate.

And don't you forget it?
