What Do We See?

By Blangs | Morning Thoughts | 29 Aug 2020

Lift your hands high and celebrate the Lord!  He has made this day, and all glory in it goes to Him!

Ever been so focused on something that the world melts away?  It's like the world goes silent, and you find a focus that can't be penetrated.  People will ask you questions and, as if they weren't even there, you'll be completely oblivious.

I've found myself in that situation wile driving before. My jaw hit the floor when I realized I had just driven an hour, but couldn't tell you how I did it or where even I turned.  It was as if my preoccupation with something else has completely drawn me out of the moment.

Be present with God.  As the world draws your attention away from the most important things in life, God will give you what you need to refocus on what is most important to Him. It's easy to get wrapped up in a process and forget why you were even doing the thing in the first place.  This is an easily exploitable weakness.  Even the most well meaning person can fall victim to momentum flowing in the wrong direction.

Trust in the Lord.  Rest in the Lord.  When you find yourself doubting and questioning life, unable to forgive yourself for what you have done, remember:

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
