Glory to God! His depth and wisdom has turned all things into good!
What happens when your will is overtaking your purpose?
Lately I've been hit with all kinds of strange thoughts and desires. My patience has been stretched thin. My fear and doubt are on high alert. Deep down inside, I feel the pressures and pain of the world. And my flesh seeks to find release from all of it.
It's funny how strong the body is, but how quickly it buckles when the mind gives up. How powerful is belief? God set us up with an amazing ability to receive input. Our senses work together to form a giant picture of the world around us. Something else worth noting: its capacity is limited. Our eyes can only see so far. Our ears can only perceive certain ranges. And how easily it becomes to lean into these limitations as excuses.
Sometimes I just don't want to wake up in the morning. Sometimes I'm just tired. But it is these moments in life that I can look to when I come to appreciate the miraculous application of our own will to life. Just imagine what happens when we submit that we don't know what we truly want or need? That the shadows of desire and want are nothing compared to those of God?
When someone tells me the day is either going to be really good or really bad, I ask myself: Why does there have to be only two outcomes? And why can't the day just be glorious in the name of God?
We put a lot on ourselves, as if our every action precedes the only meaningful moments in life. If this world were truly left up to the whimsy of man, would any of us ever find true peace?
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him
