Pressure is real.

Pressure is real.

Rejoice and celebrate! For He has sent His son to redeem us all!

As I continue to walk this path that lays before me, I am forced to look not only around me but also deeply within my heart. Acknowledging the pain and fear that hides deep below the surface. Understanding that where the weight of true faith holds little sway, the fleshly impulses have become the motivator. The desires of the body to avoid pain and seek pleasure. Not in celebration of the gift of escape, not in celebration of the miracle of the gift from God, but in an ashamed way. Embarrassed and afraid. And we hide ourselves in our sins.

For isn't it easier to just say: That's how it is. If we just figure our how to make it impossible for us to make it happen, we're never at fault. We are never the source of our own misery. But the truth is, we have been wired improperly. We are destined to fail. And this sets us apart from everything that is good and holy. Our own nature is in direct opposition of God, and it is His love and forgiveness we seek.

It is easy to be afraid when looking down at my own hands, wondering how I will accomplish anything by myself. Wondering how I am to fulfill my purpose. But this logical fallacy once again locks my mind into a losing argument. I am not greater than God. For if I was, the directions and the outcomes of every action, thought and deed would look nothing like how life has turned out thus far.

There is a bigger picture, another deeper message. Take the time to step back, to lean into the Lord. For he will give you peace.
