A Sober Chat with a Very Corporate Mod of Constellation

By DorkStar | Mods of the Gods | 9 Jun 2021

Bitcoin has Cyber Hornets.

Chainlink has Link Marines.

Constellation has username: HGTP://Viking_one who guards  https://t.me/constellationcommunity  What follows is a lively chat with this person. I edited my text to sound cool/knowledgeable and to eliminate a LOT of typos. HGTP’s is totally unedited in context. And fucking hilarious.

Me: Hi Viking
I’m starting a blog on Publish0x about online mods. I hear you are the fucking best so here is your shot at global fame: may I interview you about your role as a mod on Constellation Community ( https://t.me/constellationcommunity )? I’ll also send over a photographer for tasteful nudes.
HGTP://Viking-one: Oh wow- what an honour
hahaha a photographer?? No kidding
It would be an honour

Me: Totally kidding. I DONT want to see you naked. But I do want to interview you. DAG is amazing. We all know this. Tell the “others” why you love it.

Viking_one: Hahahaha I wasnt sure if you wanted to send a photographer to take a picture clothed or something hahaha.
Oh my god. This is a huge question.
Where Bitcoin operates in a linear chain that is slow and very expensive- hypergraph network operates on a directed acyclic graph.

Me: Thus the token name.

Viking_one: Yes D. A. G.

Me: Fantom and IOTA and others use the same tech. Convince me why Constellation is better?

Viking_one: Well - this is fairly easy to be honest. For one- there is no component that could be pulled to take down the network therefor it is essentially entirely decentralized. Node operators are people all over the world that participate in consensus. Transactions are also instantaneous and free for retail participants - consumers of the dag network leveraging its protocols in bulk are required to purchase tokens to accelerate the throughput - thus compensating operators. Our stargazer wallet also allows people to purchase and transact tokens within the wallet with its innovative partnership with Givebox.
The real magic though…
The big AHA! Moment… layer zero interoperability. This is the basement layer to bitcoins main floor. It allows value to move ACROSS chains – all blockchains become interoperable on the DAG Hypergraph network.
Further- anyone can build businesses on hypergraph and can therefore reward node operators in basically any L1 that they wanted to.
For example there is an intrinsic value to matic that the matic network is designed for. This would allow value from say Bitcoin to matic without even going on an exchange.
This is the brainchild of Wyatt. He is an absolute mental monster.

Me: Does DAG have a term for it's ardent supporters such as you?

Viking_one: Hahaha… yes.
As you are aware, there is an absolute meme culture that underwrites the entire crypto world. I think it is a way of humanizing a space that is otherwise entirely flat and electronic.
So if you hold dag, you are a Chad.
Are you a Chad, Dave?

Me: Meh. I got Chad status back in MTGOX days.

Viking_one: Hahahaha right on. Respect to the OGs. That was a bit before my time.

Me: Kidding. Lost it all with MEW.

Viking_one: Oh sheesh hahaha.

Me: And Ledger... (sobs)

Viking_one: Are you serious?!

Me: All g. So Constellation ardents are Chads?

Viking_one: Indeed sir. I just want to say, my entrance to crypto started out as a boot down the stairs. I found a project that I won’t mention, but the founder absolutely rugged everyone after a year and a half of fabricated evidence of work. It’s why I admire the constellation team so much. I have friends that are literally working with the dev team receiving compensation to build everything. The network already stands on 82 nodes.

Me: What are the challenges of being a mod on Telegram and how you deal with it?

Viking_one: Oh boy. It can be mentally draining. I have built amazing relationships with everyone involved with constellation and it often feels like a big family helping to teach new people about what is going on. Now and then though people get out of line. The hard part of modding is dealing with the intentional fud that is delivered in a passive aggressive tone - the sort of concerned trolling. It is a really difficult tactic to spot for most people but we are trained in this. People don’t always see what we see, but it’s very obvious when someone is trying to plant the notion of fear- especially recently.

I am the community lead for $ADS https://t.me/Alkimi_Exchange - the world’s first decentralised advertising exchange, bringing the benefits of decentralised networks, DeFi and rewards to programmatic advertising. Powered by Constellation’s Hypergraph.

I built the community with the assistance of my team, that are incredibly talented people in social media, fundamental analysis, TA, etc.

I think people kind of know me as the guy that crushes people fudding / I don’t let any of that shit fly when I’m on watch. I’m famous for banning people. Lol.
[weird British GIF]
Lol I really do love it though.

Me: I detect a Commonwealth mannerism... which is??

Viking_one: Hahaha you sir, are a scholar and a gentleman.

Me: And you are deeply misguided!

Viking_one: I am Canadian. I live in British Columbia.
(shares photo of a beautiful mountain vista)
I’m known in the community for periodically dumping images of my back yard. This is Mara Lake.
I fly my drone during the day and look for amazing photo ops. It’s a new hobby of mine. I love it.

Me: And I’m known in my community for dumping images of me taking a dump in my backyard.

Viking_one: Omg. That made me spit my drink out. Lol

Me: K Ill leave this out of the blog post

Viking_one: I think people often forget though that with the crypto community at large- there are very real people at all the ends, and there is a very visceral response when the market tanks, or people share a laugh on Twitter. I personally love it.
I am really a community guy I guess.

Me: Not corporate at all. Tell me about your dev folks? The community within?

Viking_one: The Dev Folks - we have some INCREDIBLY talented people working within the walls of DAG. These are people that helped to found some of the first L1 projects and worked alongside the likes of Vitalik Buterin, or Charlie Lee - arguably precedent setting dev work. When I say walls - that really sounds centralized. More importantly our Dev team is all over the world and present on just about every continent. This is truly an international effort of specialists.
But there must be about 14 Devs that are working on $DAG

Me: How were you recruited for this role?

Viking_one: I was actually modding the constellation channel when I befriended Ben Putley just in conversation surrounding the potential of Blockchain. He went silent for a few weeks and then came back with this incredible white paper in first draft. I gave him some feedback, and honestly didn’t know if I’d hear from him again because building a blockchain company is a lot of work if it’s going to truly take off. Lo and behold- Ben got back to me with a second draft, and it was every bit as amazing as the first one. I introduced Ben to the core team, and they immediately took interest. The core has been advising them for months, and helping them along the way. Anyways- they grew to the point where they realized they needed people to pay attention, and the brought me on the team to build the community and get people talking about the project.
Ben and I are obviously still friends but he is so busy with Neil, Chorley and Chandru (with whom I would also consider friends too) don’t get to shoot the shit as often as we used to but we keep it friendly.
I’m truly looking forward to meeting all of them and drinking beers somewhere hot.

Me: Followup: Hedera Hashgraph... does that trigger you?

Viking_one: Nope. Not at all. In fact / eventually all L1 chains will run state channels on hypergraph. Hypergraph allows these ecosystems to interface with one another. I will say though that based on this utility, I expect it to outperform Hash-graph.

Me: Well played.

Viking_one: There are things built on ETH that will have to interface with other networks too because they exist on the ethereum network. This is fine - it’s like how auto manufacturers all compete to try to dominate different segments of the market. You obviously get trucks from all manufacturers, but $DAG Is the fastest and most well built of the DAG-based networks with the best tokenomics.
The key is L0 Interoperability.
This is the v12 among all the v8s hahaa

Me: You’ve challenged me to find a way to wrap this up smoothly.

Viking_one: Hey sorry I know I can go on and on.

Me: You are truly a fountain of Psionic Viking energy channeled from the gods. Thank you for your service to your cause and community.

Viking_one: Haha thank you.

Me: World is changing man. Yall are doing the... thing.

Viking_one: Don’t make me ban you. Hahaha just kidding.
