The development of technology will never stop and new things are made every day, but almost everything will be based on something that was made or invented from before, and as we are saying that, we can notice many old things from the 40s or 50s and still lasting until these days, like some very old cars, or let's get a little forward in time, the good old phones that still work until this day... So why do they still work while on the other hand, we buy things that were made a month ago, and then it starts to require some repairing or doesn't even work at all? In this post, I will bring the reasons and answers to those questions with some explanations.

Financial reasons
Imagine that you bought a car that barely needs to be repaired, let's say maybe once every 5 years, with a solid body that will for sure protect you from many usual accidents, then tell me, why would you change it if you aren't impressed in having and trying different cars? Well, there is no reason as many people only change or buy new things because they have to... Now that the companies know that they started making things with less quality and that quality will be for sure good enough to use but not for it to last so long, like any new generation of phones these days, it has some very good properties that would encourage you to buy it, and yes everything they mentioned will be right even if the price isn't very high, but then you might start to notice some changes in the performance and that's why it doesn't last long, and that will force you to buy something new or buy parts that were made by the company in order to keep using that technology.
Our daily use

We aren't going to blame the factories and companies only, we also play an important role in making things not last long enough. Our daily lifestyle, our usual and non-stop use of technology even in simple tasks help to decrease the product's lifespan. An example of that is our daily use of phones, from the time we wake up until we sleep since it does a lot of tasks already in our lives so we can't just ignore it and that's how we simply contribute to decreasing the lifespan of products.
The rapid evolution of technology
Technology brings new things for us every day, and many of those things would help us doing specific tasks that would help save time or even enjoy the new technology so we tend those new products to enjoy them which will also be a reason for us to stop using a specific product that was doing the same thing maybe but with less quality.
Those are the main reason which is believed to reduce the lifespan of the modern technology products and for sure there must be some other side reasons but it wouldn't affect as much as those.
