My First Electric Bike
I had wanted to buy a electric bike for quite some time. But, finding one that suited my needs was not easy. They use to be very expensive but, they are much cheaper now.
My criteria was:
1. Small enough to fit in my car boot.
2. Reasonably priced.
3. Legal to use in Europe
4. Good reviews.
5. Availability of spares and technical support.
6. Suitable for my height.
7. Ability to ride without motor.
The DYU D3F met all the criteria so I decided to order one from Aliexpress. It was dispatched from Germany and arrived in just three day.
Dyu D3F Stats
1. Weight 17 KG
2. Capacity 6AH
3. Distance 40 + 5 km assisted mode
4. Max speed 20 km/h.
5. Rated power 240 watts
6. Charging time 4-5 hours
7. Max load 120 KG
8. Disk brakes
9. Built in front light
What's it like
I was shocked how stable the bike is on different surfaces. On the flat the bike performs well and the motor will power you along easily. On hills I need to pedal as the motor is a bit underpowered for some steep hills. But, my girlfriend who is a lot lighter does not even need to pedal. I have had the bike for about a year and not had any issues except for the battery running flat when I forgot to charge it. But, fortunately it still functions as a normal bike when you decide not to use the battery.
I brought the basic model that does not have a speedo but, I use an app on my phone when I want to keep track if the distance traveled.
What Extra's have I brought
1. Luggage rack
2. bag for luggage rack
3. Pump
4. Lock
