Matka Canyon is a Canyon 15 km west of Skopje in North Macedonia. It is a great place to visit if you are staying in Skopje. I paid for a taxi and also ask'd the taxi to wait it was extremely cheap less than €5. But, I heard of reports of taxi drivers over charging tourists. It might be worth asking a local to book a taxi for you. It is also possible to take public transport.
Makta Canyon is a great place for relaxing and other outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, swimming 🏊♂️ or not trips. It is a really beautiful place to relax after back packing around. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries and I would highly recommend it to all ages with or without children.

Makta Lake is actually artificial and the oldest in North Macedonia 🇲🇰. Built in 1938. The water 💧 from the lake is used for electricity production, fishing 🎣 irrigation and of course tourism.
Vrelo cave
Is one of the deepest under water caves in the world and is one of the deepest in Europe. Some parts of the cave remain unexplored.
