I have been to countries that have changed  their names but, I have only been to one village in my life where they have changed the name of the village.

Their was a place in Austria 🇦🇹 that was actually called Fucking. I read about in online and decided to go to see for myself. I was on my annual road trip and normally would visit several countries.

According to the news the village has now changed its name to fugging as the locals got fed up with stupid tourists like myself taking pictures 📸 of the village with just 100 residents 2020.

The original name predates the English word and is not considered offensive in anyway. The locals were actually very friendly.

I have not been back since they changed the name. If you search on Google maps for Fucking, Austria 🇦🇹 it will show up as fugging.

I have been to a number of places that have place names that are swear words in English but, none of them have actually changed the place names yet.
