Things you need to know to lose the shame of talking to people

By MJDreams | MJDREAMS | 26 May 2019

Do you feel very ashamed when you need to talk to someone to ask for information, ask a question, give advice, or just get close? In a group of people, it is common for some individuals to be more outgoing and others more reserved.

This is because each person has a different personality, which varies according to their history and life experience. Many people prefer to shut up at risk of exposing themselves. These individuals fail to relate to protect themselves from mistakes and criticism, and are too afraid to feel humiliated, inferior, or excluded.

Tips to lose the shame of talking to people

Discover the triggers of shame Realize what are the situations that leave you with more shame. You may be afraid to speak in public, to talk to an unfamiliar person, to engage in a conversation about a subject you do not master, to be praised, or to be criticized. By becoming aware of the triggers that bring shame, you will be able to work each of them separately.

Know and Love Yourself

You need to know and accept yourself, loving yourself for what you truly are, to overcome the excessive fear of being criticized or rejected.

When you are able to accept yourself, you cease to depend on the acceptance of the other to be able to do things and be happy without being afraid of making mistakes. Do not condemn yourself so much You'll never be good at everything and you'll never get it right. You, like all people, are imperfect and need to learn to live with it. Instead of staying focused all the time on the things you do not like and condemning yourself for what you do not know, begin to realize what is positive about you and what your talents and gifts are. It does not overvalue people. The human being tends to see only the positive aspects of people, forgetting that all individuals have problems and limitations. The comparison is always unfair, because you see the best of the other and the worst in you. Do not overvalue people, and know that all have defects and individual qualities.
