The top 5 fastest supercars in the world is one of the most coveted and controversial topic in all of motorsports.

Why? Because rival manufacturers trade claims and counter-claims, with several machines purported to be the quickest of the bunch.

And yes, since the invention of the motor car, engineers and innovators have been seeking ways to make them go faster and faster.

So without further ado, below are the elite Super Cars that made the prestigious cut for the top 5 fastest cars on the planet.

Number 1. KOENIGSEGG AGERA RS

The McLaren F1 sports car reached 386.46 km/h (240.14) at the Volkswagen proving ground in Germany on March 31, 1998.

Let’s be clear on one thing: to be capable of reaching speeds in excess of 400 km/h (248 mph), all of the cars mentioned above featured marvels of innovation and precision engineering.

With the difficulties involved in comparing the speeds of these supercars, the arguments may still continue as to which one is really the fastest of them all.

Would the top 5 fastest supercars in the world mentioned here could stand the test of time as the world’s fastest cars ever?

Perhaps the only way to settle them would be to gather all the contenders together at a race track and see who crosses the finishing line first.

One thing is for sure. Irrespective of which one would win when that day comes, it would be a race worth watching. Please share this and enjoy!
