Hello everyone!

I've been a member of PublishOx for a few years now, and have never even written an introduction post.

I thought it was time! I could give you a lot of excuses but I won't. I don't like excuses, and instead, like to take responsibility for my own actions or non-actions in this case. I just haven't posted here, yet. But that will change!

A little bit about me

My 'real' name is Miriam but online I am misslasvegas. I 'earned' this nickname years ago. I might tell you all about it one day...

So, now you know where my name comes from, and that I'm Dutch. I'll elaborate on that a bit.

I was born in the Netherlands, then my family moved to Germany when I was three years old. My parents and my older brother were all working in hospitality, and in Germany, my parents ran several businesses. From hotels to campsites and holiday parks. My youth in Germany was amazing! We got to see lots of different places, met awesome people, and just had an amazing childhood. Unfortunately, this all ended abruptly just before I turned 12, and circumstances made us return to the Netherlands. I've had good and bad times there but never really felt at home in my own country.

This was when my love for travel was born. I studied hospitality business first, then communication & journalism, and in my later years, hypnotherapy. Yes, I am not your average person! I lose interest when I have to do the same thing over and over.

When I finished my studies, I decided to travel abroad for a while. I ended up living in Asia for 3 years, which was one of the best experiences of my life, and the best time of my life. After that, I moved to St. Martin, in the Caribbean, and then to the US for another 3 years. I returned to the Netherlands once more three months pregnant with my eldest daughter, when my marriage didn't work out. I ended up staying for 10 years but a year after my mother had passed away, I felt like nothing was keeping us there anymore, so we moved (me and 3 kids by then) to Ireland, where we lived for another 10 years. 

Then, in November last year, I moved the whole family, so 4 kids, my eldest daughter's boyfriend, and 2 dogs and a cat to Mexico from Ireland.

We love it here!

I had a full-time job when we first moved here but that soon turned out to be too much of an undertaking. I was still working on Irish time, and the working hours (3 am till 11.30 am) were killing me. I decided to quit after struggling with it for 4 months and go all in on crypto.

Right now, my main income is from Hive, where I have a blog, some work I do for a project there, and a little work here and there. It isn't much but I'm sure it'll get better. Once those bears have left us alone haha.

Anyway, I believe this is it for my introduction. I can't really say what I'll be writing about just yet. I'll keep some of it crypto-related for sure. But I might add other subjects as I go. I'll have to figure this all out. I'm sure I will.
