After lurking on Publish0x for a while and now having finally signed up for a formal account to start publishing my own material, I have a few observations and hope to start a conversation on how we can make this community stronger.
First, it's important to say that I love the idea of a space for writers and thinkers to share their ideas and be rewarded for these contributions through cryptocurrency. It has been a great way for me to learn about the latest trends in crypto.
However, I often wonder about the overall direction of the Publish0x community. Is it mainly a space for crypto enthusiasts and content? Is it a space for all interests? At first glance it seems like the majority of content on the site is geared towards crypto. The front page (to use traditional print media parlance) seems to predominantly feature content on crypto. It takes a bit of digging under the "Explore" link to find a whole subsection on non-crypto topics. For those who write and follow content on these other topics, I propose greater visibility on the front page. I think this would spur diversity and growth in our community.
My second observation is related to the language quality of some content. Though I am no English grammar czar, I've noticed that some content is very difficult to understand due to poor grammar, spelling, language mechanics. I recognize that English is not the language of choice or primary fluency for all content publishers or followers, so I propose creating content subsections geared towards other languages. I would also love it if content publishers could collaborate and automatically split tips to improve the quality of their content. With smart contract technology, this could be reasonably easy to implement!
Finally, I love the option to follow and tip content authors. I think the ability to utilize my own crypto to tip other content creators would be a great way incentivize content creators. In the vein of platforms like Patreon, this mechanism might be a good way to ensure that community remain viable and dynamic for the long term.
Anyway, please let me know your thoughts! I welcome everyone's thoughts - even those who disagree with me.
